A review of Connected World Summit & AI Tech World

Artificial Intelligence event review

Connected World Summit & AI Tech World

Sep 25, 2018

Styleintelligence's view:

AI is merging into sector specific vendors

Luckily the weather was great and the five minute stroll from Canada Water (Jubilee Line) station was enjoyable. Poor signage was due to quite a lot of building work going on.

The show itself was a bit disappointing with very few exhibitors. The biggest attraction appeared to be the cafe unfortunately...

We have visited the AI Tech World in the past and been relatively impressed by the number and quality of exhibtors. Unfortunately the developments in AI related tech move far too fast and it seems most such companies are now targeting sector specific shows rather than generic AI shows, which could arguably be more interesting to the general public than any particular industry visitor.

The show was collocated with Connected World which had the more exhibitors, but again, the focus is a grey area with industrial network providers next to smart home and smart cities product providers.

The show needs a bit more purpose and focus to survive. We think it is a shame if the show would disappear since it clearly fills a gap in the market.

There were plenty of visitors on the first day and there appear to be a lot of interest. Wether that will drive the show further is another issue.
