MHI 2024 Spring Meetup The Material Handling Industry association (MHI, website) arrange a number of member meetings in addition to trade shows Modex and Promat. STIQ x MODEX 2024 REVIEW As the annual warehouse automation trade show calendar goes, March is typically when things are happening. First out on our calendar was MODEX (organised by MHI) in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was held Monday March 11-14 and STIQs team arrived on the 9th. We had enough time to include a basketball game with the Atlanta Hawks playing at home. NRF2024 was a full return to normal following the pandemic. Visitor numbers back to full force. Very few if any at all exhibitor cancellations. New food innovation zone and some exciting MHE displays. Overall, a lack of excitement despite all the AI talk.

We were kindly invited to Wincanton's Cygnia DC7 warehouse in the UK to see one of their live G2P deployments with Geek+ and experience G2P picking first hand. Whilst robots are always impressive and interesting, what is even more impressive is the decanting strategy (topping up the system) and the processing after a pick has been executed from the shelf pod/robot. In this case, the G2P solution consisted of a G2P AGV system from Geek+, integrated by Invar. The deployment itself was not huge with c.50 robots and c.240 shelf pods.
