MHI 2024 Spring Meetup The Material Handling Industry association (MHI, website) arrange a number of member meetings in addition to trade shows Modex and Promat. Member meetings are held in the Spring and Autumn meetups - called Spring Meetup and the Annual Conference. MHI's 2024 Spring Meeting was held on home turf (for MHI) in Charlotte, North Carolina, US in lovely summery weather (just below 30 degrees Celsius in the sun). As with most German trade shows STIQ has visited, it is supremely signed as well so you would have to do very well to get lost. STIQ x MODEX 2024 REVIEW As the annual warehouse automation trade show calendar goes, March is typically when things are happening. First out on our calendar was MODEX (organised by MHI) in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was held Monday March 11-14 and STIQs team arrived on the 9th. We had enough time to include a basketball game with the Atlanta Hawks playing at home. Unfortunately the home team lost. Visit to UK 3PL to view G2P automation deployment
We were kindly invited to Wincanton's Cygnia DC7 warehouse in the UK to see one of their live G2P deployments with Geek+ and experience G2P picking first hand. Whilst robots are always impressive and interesting, what is even more impressive is the decanting strategy (topping up the system) and the processing after a pick has been executed from the shelf pod/robot. In this case, the G2P solution consisted of a G2P AGV system from Geek+, integrated by Invar. The deployment itself was not huge with c.50 robots and c.240 shelf pods.
