IoT Week Korea, 25 Oct, 2019
We have visited a few trade shows at COEX over the years and, while the area is impressive for its many shops and restaurants, trade shows are not the largest, nor the most impressive. Unfortunately.IoT World Korea 2019 is no exception.
Note: Our visit was a chance visit and was nothing that was planned or which we travelled to South Korea to visit. Hence this feedback is more positive than it might have been.
Senscan was one of the more interesting exhibitors with their finger based & handheld barcode scanner. The company launched its product, Senscan FIT a few months ago. The wrist-based computer device can also be fitted with an RFID reader.
As far as STIQ understood, the key USP was the price, which would come it at half compared to Honeywell’s.

Another company worth mentioning was Monnit Korea.
Monnit produce a range of IoT sensors, primarily targeting the facilities management sector. Sensors include temperature, activity (human resources), electricity, air quality, accelerometer and water detection. The range of sensors was impressive, combined with a software platform to manage and alert users of any problems or how to optimise operations.
Monnit distributes the range of products directly and has an office in the UK, among others.
