A review of Logis Tech Tokyo, 2024 #LTT24

A REVIEW OF LOGIS-TECH TOKYO 2024

Logis-Tech Tokyo (LTT) is an annual intralogistics industry trade show held at the Big Sight location in Tokyo, Japan.

Big Sight Expo SiteBig Sight Exhibition area seen from the train station.

In odd years (2023, 2025, etc.) the show is an "Innovation Expo" (a smaller show) and even years (2024, 2026, etc.) is the main and larger Logis-Tech Tokyo show.

STIQ visited this show in 2023 and 2024. The two shows are very different in size.

IS SPEAKING JAPANESE IMPORTANT AT LTT?

Yes. To get the most out of this show, STIQ recommends to bring someone who can translate Japanese for you at this show. There are a lot of smaller companies that do not have any fluency in English.

In our experience, translation apps simply do not cut it at shows, but happy to hear your views if you have used this.

TOKYO WEATHER IN SEPTEMBER

If you plan to visit future LTT shows, note that September can be very warm and due to the large number of visitors at this show, the venue AC may not be able to work properly. Plan for that it may be warm inside (and very warm outside).

THE SHOW AREA - TOKYO BIG SIGHT

The 2024 show was held in Big Sight East's 8 exhibition halls which were consolidated into 3 halls (halls 1-3, 4-6 and 7-8).

Note the 2023 Innovation Expo was held in Big Sight West halls.

Signage could be bigger, but is enough. Remember outdoors is very very warm.

POST-SHOW EVENING EVENTS

As post-show events go, LTT is far less busy (for foreigners perhaps?) compared to LogiMAT, ProMAT, Modex, etc. as the focus is primarily the domestic market and corporate "sales team meetings". STIQ reps did not see many non-company-only events (or were not invited perhaps?) as typically happens around shows like Modex and ProMAT and LogiMAT.

STIQ was, however, invited to participate in and moderate a talk on WES at a Speakeasy event hosted by by Ground Inc and Ensight Automation.

HOTELS - GRAND FRESA 5MIN WALK FROM BIG SIGHT

We stayed at the Sotetsu Grand Fresa hotel in Tokyo-Bay Ariake, a simple 5min walk from the Big Sight show venue. This was perfect, but note there are not a lot of shopping opportunities in the area.

The morning breakfast queue . Prepare for a long wait if you're not queueing up early (breakfast from 6.45am) or is prepared to wait. STIQ recommends skipping breakfast in the hotel and go to Starbucks (opens at 8am) or another cafe in the area.

EXHIBITORS

There were nearly 600 exhibitors at Logis Tech Tokyo 2024 and this blog will not cover every company that exhibited. Here is a sample of some of the exhibitors.

This stand was a bit confusing to STIQ Ltd reps, but probably made sense.
