Hoisted as the "New flagship event for retail technology", this event certainly set our expectations at a pretty high level.
The Retail Technology Show was held in London, UK at the Olympia trade show complex (currently undergoing refurbishment) on April 26-27, 2022.
Due to meetings, etc. we could only spare 3 hours for the show and we were on the small queue to get into the show at 8.45am. Having gone through bag check we were held at the bottom of the stairs with a refreshing countdown to opening.
It took us one hour and a bit to walk through the show, including various stops to meet & greet exhibitors.
There were plenty of payment companies and POS, handheld devices and printer vendors at the show. After this, there were plenty of workforce companies, i.e. communicating with staff, ensuring planogram compliance, etc.
We mainly visited to see if we could get any information on Amazon Go (exhibiting), but as usual all Amazon people are schtum when anyone with a 'press badge' are near. Mental note to visit as a general visitor next time...
Here are some pictures of the Amazon Just Walk Out stand at the show
PS Note the Amazon Just Walk Out tagline "Part shopping, part magic"
There were of course many other exhibitors and here's a few images
Pretty impressive media streaming set up for three participants!
Long queues to the seminars... must be something good.
